But as I lay in bed that night, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to the story. Something Daniel wasn't telling me.

I nodded, feeling a little better. Maybe my mom was right. Maybe I just needed to take things slow and see where they went. But as I lay in bed that night,

When I got home, my mom was still up, waiting for me. She asked me how my night was, and I tried to brush it off, not wanting to get into all the details. But she could tell something was up. Until then, I would just have to be patient

"Emily, what's going on?" she asked, concern etched on her face. "You can tell me anything."

I sighed, flopping down onto the couch beside her. "It's just...Daniel and I kissed," I said, trying to sound casual. "But I don't know if it's going to work out."

I couldn't believe what had just happened. I had finally confessed my feelings to Daniel, and he had kissed me. But now, I was left standing here, feeling more confused than ever.
